MEA-Test in Fuel Cell Stacks

Verification and qualification of MEA in standard stack technologies

Suppliers of membrane electrode assemblies demand the in cell test and in stack test of their MEAs and MEA component (diffusion layer). Single cell tests only give limited output compared to fuel cell stack operation. ZBT has screened a large bandwidth of components within 5 cell short stacks successfully and thereby has given valuable feedback for the component developer. The standard stack geometry of ZBT (50 cm2) is used as standard for these tests. The folowing graph shows exemplary results of the i-v-curve of 5 MEA configurations by different suppliers.
