Study on the Future of Refuelling Stations: Hydrogen for Heavy-duty Transport

New NOW study sheds light on "Development paths for the hydrogen infrastructure of the future".

A new study presents the development paths for hydrogen infrastructure.

The demands on the infrastructure for electromobility – whether with battery or hydrogen – are diverse. This requires holistic concepts to enable efficient and reliable use of the vehicles.

In heavy-duty transport in particular, there are many arguments in favour of both batteries and hydrogen as an energy carrier. That is why truck manufacturers are focusing on both technologies. This has consequences for the infrastructure, which will have to meet different requirements.

Against this background, a consortium of ZBT, LBST, LifteH2, Spilett new technologies and ZSW commissioned by NOW GmbH has prepared a study on the "Development paths for the hydrogen infrastructure of the future". The data important for the discussions were collected within the working groups of the Clean Energy Partnership (CEP). The scenarios were also developed and classified there – a fruitful collaboration without which essential results would not have been achieved.
